118 Winnebago's History
The records show that this building has always had a restaurant of some kind on the ground floor. The
first restaurant that most people will remember was Ronnies, the maker of the famous rolls. Following Ronnies the
Magpie Coffeehouse and bookstore began under the former owners. They had thier fill and sold the building
and business to the current owner who has been in place the past six years. The upstairs was the "Tailor Shop"
for some time and has been used for housing ever since. There is the possiblity of making the upstairs back
into a small shop of some kind in the near future.

Our Cuisine
Here at the Magpie our products are made from the ingredients we can find. Sometime that means
that we make less money that we could, or should, on some of our items. For example, all our coffees are fair trade organic and we purchase it from a small batch artisan roaster. We call in our order for the 15 plus varieties
of coffee that we sell and our roaster ,Ancora, in Madison roasts the coffee and ships it to us in 24 hours. We pay slightly more for this service, but
we feel that it is worth the price to deliver the best quality product. That same mentality goes in to the rest of our
products. Whether it's 100% fruit for all our soothies or making everything from scrath - salad dressings to soups and our
specialty deserts, the goal is to give you the best quality for the best price.
